Why this matters

Most OB-GYNs in Hampton Roads don't take Medicaid. We do.

Gyn Wellness Center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and managed Medicaid plans at all four of our Hampton Roads locations. That means quality gynecology care — annual exams, menopause management, surgical care — is now accessible to more women in our community.

We believe great medical care shouldn't depend on the size of your wallet. That's why we made the change, and it's why we welcome new patients regardless of plan.

Common questions

Medicare & Medicaid FAQs

The questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, call us at (757) 734-5038.

Will I owe anything out of pocket?

Original Medicare typically covers your annual exam 100%. Some services like lab work may have a copay. Medicaid generally has no copay for covered services.

Do I need a referral?

Medicare doesn't require a referral. Some Medicaid managed care plans do — call your plan, or call us at (757) 734-5038 and we'll check for you.

I just got Medicare. Can I get my annual now?

Yes. Your "Welcome to Medicare" visit and your annual wellness visit are both covered.

I have both Medicare and Medicaid. How does that work?

We bill Medicare first, then Medicaid for the remainder. In most cases, you owe nothing.

Do you treat adolescents?

Yes — we treat adolescents starting at age 15 across all four of our Hampton Roads locations.

What if my plan isn't on your list?

Many plans we accept aren't listed. Call (757) 734-5038 and we'll verify in about two minutes.
